🧵🚨 The United States executing a military operation inside Venezuela, arresting the president, and transferring him to New York for trial… What is the real reason? And what about the immunity of the head of state?
What happened in Venezuela is not a passing news story
Nor is it “defending democracy” as 👇 promotes
Stay with me until the end.
What happened?
Early morning of January 3, 2026
Washington announced the execution of an operation inside Venezuela, arresting the president, and transferring him to New York for trial.
The wrong question: How?
The correct question: Why now?
2) The key to the story: Oil 🛢️
Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world.
But “timing” here is everything.
If oil rises = higher global inflation
And the last thing America wants right now is a new inflation wave.
3) Politics = Oil
When you control the political decision in Caracas…
You control the oil production valve:
➡️ Increase production? Prices go down
➡️ Reduce production? Prices go up
Simply: a global energy control button.
4) The economic goal: Interest 📉
Cheaper oil usually means:
Cheaper transportation
Lower import/export costs
Slower inflation
And with slower inflation… the room to cut interest rates becomes easier politically and economically.
5) Well… legally, does the US have the right to arrest a head of state?
Here are two points we need to distinguish:
(A) Legitimacy of “the charge” inside the US
The US claims to have federal indictments/charges and relies on an internal trial.
(B) Legitimacy of “arrest by force inside another country” internationally
This is the most dangerous part:
Arresting a president within the territory of a sovereign state without its consent is often considered a violation of sovereignty and a major legal and political dispute.
6) And what about the immunity of the head of state?
International law has the concept of “immunity of officials” before foreign criminal jurisdiction, especially senior leaders.
And this is exactly the reason for the controversy: Should immunity be lifted? Are there exceptions? How is it applied?
7) The bigger picture
What happened, whether you agree or disagree, opens one door: 🌍 Managing the global market by force
🛢️ Energy first
💰 Economy and interest second
🗳️ “Democracy” the last thing in the narrative
❓ The real question now:
If Venezuela is a “message”…
Who’s next?
