SOFTBANK COMPLETES $40 BILLION INVESTMENT IN OPENAI
🔹 SoftBank has finalized a commitment to invest $40 billion in OpenAI (ChatGPT), officially transferring about $22 to $22.5 billion last week. This deal values OpenAI at approximately $260 billion before the investment and helps SoftBank hold more than 10 percent of the shares.
🔹 Part of the capital is used to build AI infrastructure and data centers, including the Stargate project in collaboration with Oracle.
🔹 SoftBank has sold all of its $5.8 billion Nvidia shares and continues to ramp up investments in AI companies. OpenAI will use part of this cash flow and has committed over $1.4 trillion for infrastructure in the coming years, mainly purchasing chips from Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom.
🔹 OpenAI is preparing for an IPO in the future, with investments from Microsoft, SoftBank, and Disney, and is negotiating an additional $10 billion from Amazon.
