Prediction market risk warning: A double-edged sword of financial applications

Abstract generation in progress

[Coin World] Recently, there is a phenomenon worth pondering - those mainstream financial applications have successively launched prediction market functions, which seem quite attractive to users. However, some investors have pointed out that doing so may dig their own grave.

Why do you say that? Prediction markets are inherently high-risk. The risk of user account liquidation is significantly increased; once you are liquidated, the value of your account goes to zero. This is not a trivial matter.

The deeper issue is that these features push the application itself towards a “casino-like” direction, causing the user experience to gradually deviate from the original intention of financial services. What was the competitiveness of these platforms originally? Ease of use, convenience, reliability. But when prediction markets become traffic entry points, they may instead harm these core scenarios.

In the long term, this model is detrimental to the application ecosystem. It's easy to attract gamblers, but difficult to retain valuable users. Once users suffer heavy losses in liquidation, trust is lost. The lifeline of financial applications is user trust, and this cannot be compromised.

Is there a new trick to cut leeks again? Prediction markets are just disguised gambling; platforms profit from the spread, while ordinary users get wiped out. --- That's right, trust is gone once it's lost. But honestly, they don't care at all. --- Laughing, still trying to keep users with prediction markets? How lacking in innovation is that. --- Clearing risk by directly zeroing out accounts? Who dares to play that, besides gamblers? --- Financial applications turning into casinos—that's the fate of Web3 today. --- Wait, this logic is reversed. Attracting gamblers is actually their goal, right... --- Once something goes wrong and users run away, the platform deserves to suffer huge losses. --- Their core competitiveness has been destroyed by this trash feature called prediction markets—so ironic.

Here comes another joke about "easy, convenient, and reliable," really impressive. It targets gamblers right away, then turns around and says it can't retain valuable users, this logic is truly absurd. But to be honest, the drop to zero in liquidation is indeed harsh, I have seen too many brothers whose dreams were shattered overnight.

Here we go again, being played for suckers. This time it’s packaged quite seriously.

The clearing reveals people's true feelings. These platforms are really committing suicide now; attracting gamblers is not as important as retaining users.

To be honest, this is a typical case of drinking poison to quench thirst; exchanging short-term traffic for long-term credibility is not worth it.

Selling points have turned into a casino, this is outrageous. Once the liquidation hits, the trust in the platform goes straight to zero.

This gambling-style trap is really unplayable. Once you get liquidated, your credit is gone, and it's hard for the platform to recover.
