In the midst of volatility, learn to stand firm alone
— Opening note of a long-term crypto column
I realized I was becoming quieter during a very flat market.
No sharp rises, no sharp drops.
Yet the community was more lively than ever.
Some started doubting the direction, some hurried to find opportunities, and others repeatedly checked “what others are doing.”
At that moment, I suddenly realized: what truly tests the market is never extreme conditions, but these in-between moments.
When I first entered the crypto world, I was also afraid of loneliness.
Afraid I wouldn’t understand the market,
Afraid of missing out on hot spots,
Afraid that not being in the discussion would leave me behind.
Only after going through several cycles did I understand,
The most expensive thing in the crypto world is never information,
But the moment when emotions are manipulated.
Zhuangzi said: “Heaven and Earth and I were born together, and all things are one with me.”
If you translate this into market language, it’s quite simple:
When you no longer rush to seek confirmation externally,
You truly begin to converse with the cycle itself.
I’ve seen many people, full of confidence in a bull market,
Get anxious during turbulence,
And become completely lost during corrections.
It’s not that they are not smart,
But they have handed over the power of judgment to the market’s voice.
And those who can truly go far,
Are often more quiet when the market is loudest.
It’s not that they can’t see opportunities,
But they know:
Not every fluctuation is worth participating in.
The great Peng in Zhuangzi’s writings soars upward on the wings of the gale for ninety thousand miles.
It’s not leaving the flock,
But its height is simply not within the scope of low-altitude circling.
The same applies in the crypto world.
When you start:
No longer explaining your positions,
No longer rushing to prove your judgments,
No longer participating in all debates,
You will notice a subtle change—
You are not distancing yourself from the market, but standing more steadily.
This solitude is not being abandoned by the world.
It’s more like a necessary period of silence.
During this time, you will gradually establish your own rhythm:
When to move,
When to stop,
When doing nothing is actually the best choice.
Zhuangzi said: “Be empty and receptive.”
In the crypto world, I prefer to understand it as: leaving space for judgment, leaving a retreat for emotions.
This column aims to record exactly these moments.
Not market predictions,
Not calls and reviews,
But those moments in the cycle,
When you begin to learn to be at peace with yourself.
When the market is noisy, I choose to write in silence;
When emotions surge, I try to dissect them;
When everything is uncertain, I prefer to discuss,
How one can stand firm amid fluctuations.
If you also feel:
Growing more quiet,
Becoming more restrained,
Realizing that doing less doesn’t mean missing out,
Then perhaps we are walking the same path.
This is not a lively road,
But it is long enough.
In the cycle, may we both hold onto the weight of our hearts.
