Tether Explores Equity On-Chain Solution After Planning to Raise $20 Billion
According to sources from Ha Shi Chain, Bloomberg reports that while Tether is progressing with a maximum of $20 billion in fundraising plans, it is also considering ways to enhance liquidity through buybacks or equity tokenization. Tether management is concerned that existing shareholders selling shares at a discount could impact valuation and currently does not permit their participation in this round of fundraising exit. Tether has previously launched the Hadron asset on-chain platform, aiming to represent stocks and other assets in blockchain form.
