Regarding the views on bull and bear markets, I personally don't feel strongly about it. The size of the crypto market has grown significantly now. For $BTC , the distinctions between bull and bear markets are becoming less obvious. Unless there's a major crisis in the global markets, it's hard for many institutions to pull out their chips. Therefore, there's no need to argue too much about bull and bear markets. The bull market often experiences sharp declines, and the bear market can rebound vigorously. In my opinion, when the market is not doing well, it's a bear market; when the market is rising, it's a bull market. As long as you follow the trend to make money, that's enough.
Most of the time, money is made during bear markets; it just only shows during bull markets! Money is lost during bull markets; it’s only discovered during bear markets!
Taste it, savor it! Is this kind of logic correct? Although it's difficult to determine the bottom in a bear market, many buy at the lowest prices, and their accounts are constantly showing losses. But as long as you can hold $BTC , when the bull market erupts, it’s easy to profit, and you can even achieve several times or ten times returns.
Moreover, most of the time, the market starts with BTC rising first, leading the mainstream coins to rotate afterward. This creates arbitrage opportunities. When a bull market begins and BTC goes up, you can sell some of it, and position in mainstream coins that haven't risen yet, riding the wave for gains.
This approach avoids the risks of altcoins retracing heavily and going to zero during bear markets. Waiting for $BTC to rise before deploying altcoins is safer. The key is to sell before the bull market ends; otherwise, profits from altcoins can also retrace significantly. The safest way is to take some profits from Bitcoin and use that to play with altcoins. Even if you don’t handle it well and face a sharp downturn, losing money is still manageable.
It's better to make light predictions and focus on contingency plans, preparing for the worst. Buy in and wait for the next bull market, and don't focus too much on short-term paper losses. Prepare for long-term investment.
