Tonight, the real drama isn't about the 25 basis points cut—that's no longer a suspenseful issue. The key is how Powell's mouth moves, what he says, and what expressions he uses.
The rate cut is already a clear signal. But what the market truly wants to bet on is the Fed's next stance. If Powell is gentle and says "the economy is okay, we can ease gradually," the dollar will weaken, funds will immediately flow into the crypto market, and Bitcoin and Ethereum will surge; if he insists "inflation still isn't fully under control," the dollar will instantly harden, and crypto prices will drop on the spot.
Currently, the situation on the US side is a bit delicate: tech giants are announcing layoffs one after another, prices are still hovering at high levels, and what's more troublesome is the government shutdown causing a lack of economic data. Everyone is guessing—guessing what signals Powell will send tonight.
So don’t operate blindly. Focus on these three things:
**First, the wording of the meeting statement**
Seeing phrases like "inflation pressures easing" or "policy adjustments can be more flexible"? That’s a dovish signal, so you can breathe a sigh of relief. But if they repeatedly emphasize "inflation risks remain" or "caution is still needed," beware—hawkish signals may emerge, and the market will feel the pain.
**Second, the changes in the dot plot**
The more dots that move downward, the better—if the forecasted interest rate by the end of 2026 is lower than before, it means more room for rate cuts next year, fueling cryptocurrencies. Conversely, if the dots move upward? That means rate cut expectations are being scaled back, and crypto prices will follow suit.
**Third, Powell’s press conference**
If he dares to say "the labor market is solid, and a soft landing is likely," it’s a hint of continued easing, and you can go long. But if he throws in some sharp words, mentioning "strong inflation resilience" or "more data needed," don’t hesitate—protect your principal immediately.
Remember one thing: living is more important than getting rich overnight.
Don’t gamble tonight, just watch the direction clearly.
