In August in Shanghai, I received a nerve-wracking message—a friend sent me a screenshot of his account: his ETH and SOL long positions were floating a loss of over a million USDT.
“Should I cut my losses?” he asked, clearly hesitant. I glanced at the chart; his entry point was indeed rough, almost right at the ceiling of the consolidation range. But the key was that the overall trend structure hadn’t completely broken down.
I replied, “Don’t move, hold on.”
Honestly, times like these are the ultimate test of human nature. Watching your paper losses fluctuate day after day, anyone would panic. But after reviewing his entry logic, I saw the direction was right, just the timing was too early. In choppy markets, emotional trading is the most dangerous; cutting losses too soon often means giving up right before the dawn.
So what happened next? Just as expected, the market rebounded. We decisively closed the positions at a relatively high point—not only recovering the losses, but netting over 500,000 USDT in profit.
Since then, he basically stopped trading blindly and started following my strategy. Recently, the key positions in COAI and MYX have been surging, and by catching the right waves, his account balance has grown like a snowball. Now his main account has surpassed 20 million USDT, plus he’s holding 30 BTC as ballast, with the remaining funds being allocated for strategic opportunities.
I’m not telling this story to brag. Who in crypto hasn’t taken a hit? Losing money isn’t scary; what’s scary is how you handle it afterward. Some panic and cut losses recklessly, some stubbornly hold until liquidation, and some can calmly review, correct mistakes, and adjust.
Remember this: You can never make all the money in the world, but you can lose it all.
If you’re also feeling lost while deeply underwater, or want to figure out how to build a solid position strategy, feel free to reach out. The market is never short on opportunities; what’s lacking is the patience to withstand volatility and the judgment to see the right direction.
