[Crypto World] Circle has obtained a financial services license from Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), which means they can now legally conduct money services in the UAE, with a focus on applying USDC in commercial payment and settlement scenarios.
There have also been new personnel moves—Dr. Saeeda Jaffar has been appointed as Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, which shows Circle’s strong commitment to deeply cultivate this market. In fact, they had already registered in Dubai earlier, and now with the Abu Dhabi approval, their Middle East strategy is becoming increasingly solid.
Interestingly, just the day before, a major exchange also obtained a license in Abu Dhabi. The current wave of regulatory openness in the Middle East is indeed attracting many players to join the market.
