To add a detail—the underlying architecture of Farcaster is actually still open, and technically it’s totally possible to build other clients on top of it. But at this point in time, I doubt any team would bother with that.
Honestly, since they’ve already taken the heavy-asset route, the next thing to watch is whether 1 or 2 truly flagship core assets can emerge within the Farcaster ecosystem. After all, having an open protocol alone isn’t enough; what really matters is having strong ecosystem projects to support the platform.
