In my view, the perpetual DEX top three will always be a battleground. You've got HL and Lighter locked in, then there's this wild card third spot—could be aster, variational, maybe edgeX, hard to say right now. But here's the thing: it mirrors what we see in centralized exchanges. Just like how certain major platforms and some compliant players dominate the CEX world, the same hierarchy's shaping up in decentralized perps. Three titans, endless competition.

The data shows a tripartite balance, but when counted by the hour, the third place position fluctuates way too much... Let's wait a bit longer, this mechanism is bound to collapse eventually.

The eternal triangle game, whoever sits in the third chair gets eaten... Can Aster withstand it this time, or is it just another new story of cutting leeks?

These are the only three truly competitive perpetual DEXs: HL and Lighter are solid gatekeepers, but the race for the third spot is still wide open. Aster, Variational, and edgeX are all gearing up to compete.

Hmm... to be honest, HL and Lighter's positions are pretty solid, but the competition for third place is really complicated. --- That's just how perpetual DEXs are. Whatever centralized exchanges do, they have to follow. Can't escape the fate of oligopoly. --- So much uncertainty around who's in third place... Who knows, maybe some dark horse will suddenly emerge and shake up the whole landscape. --- "Tripod" sounds nice, but at the end of the day, it's all about the money—whoever has the deepest liquidity is king. --- I don't really get what aster was doing with that move, and as for edgeX, it doesn't seem to be making much noise. --- "Unlimited competition" sounds good, but when the market turns bearish, everyone gets wrecked... --- This logic is exactly the same as CEXs. Now everyone likes to use centralized methods and package them as "decentralized."

hl and lighter have already been decided, but it's still hard to say who will take the third seat.
