Recently, I came across a pretty interesting viewpoint.

A certain financial executive wrote that we are already ahead of the world in mobile payments and digital RMB. So at this point, pushing for a RMB stablecoin? There’s really no advantage domestically, and it’ll be hard to make a name for it internationally as well.

To put it bluntly—don’t just follow the path of USD stablecoins and push for RMB stablecoins both domestically and abroad with full force.

Why? Because if you develop RMB stablecoins by following the playbook of USD stablecoins, you won’t be able to shake the USD system at all. Mobile payments and digital RMB are the real differentiators—this is the track we should double down on.

When it comes to stablecoins, the USD already has the first-mover advantage and has established an ecosystem. For RMB to gain a foothold internationally, it needs its own innovative path, not just to play the role of a follower.

To put it simply, this is just a matter of resource allocation. Don't be fooled by the so-called stablecoin trend. Followers are always one step behind, and history is full of such lessons.

I have to complain about this logic—are stablecoins really that useless?

Instead of getting hung up on stablecoins, it’s better to turn the advantages of mobile payments into real value—differentiation is key.

This logic is indeed clear-headed. Stop always thinking about copying the US dollar model; we already have our own cards to play.

Honestly, this logic really hits the mark. Why do we even need to wade into the messy stablecoin business?

This guy makes some good points. Not following the crowd is definitely the right approach, but does that really mean RMB stablecoins have no future?
