Cloudflare crashed, and both OpenSea and Upbit went down.

[Chain News] Just now, multiple crypto platforms collectively “crashed.”

Users of OpenSea and Upbit almost simultaneously found that the websites were inaccessible, with a cold “500 Internal Server Error” displayed on the page. At first, everyone thought it was just an issue with their respective platforms, but after checking, it turned out—the real culprit was a Cloudflare service outage.

As one of the world’s largest CDN and network security providers, Cloudflare offers infrastructure support for countless Web3 projects. This outage directly triggered a chain reaction for platforms relying on its services. OpenSea, as a leading marketplace in the NFT sector, and Upbit, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea, both going down at the same time is truly a rare sight.

Interestingly, this “one goes down, all go down” situation once again exposes the fragility of centralized infrastructure. Many users joked: Decentralized blockchains still end up being at the mercy of centralized service providers. Currently, the affected platforms are undergoing emergency repairs, but the exact recovery time is unknown.

Serves you right, this is what happens when you rely too much on centralization. --- When Cloudflare goes down, everything dies. What a joke for web3. --- I was wondering why I couldn't open it. Turns out this thing is acting up again. --- Even OpenSea went down this time. Everyone should really reflect on this. --- Where's the decentralization? Still getting completely controlled by a single company, Cloudflare. --- 500 error, but I actually enjoy seeing how the market reacts at times like this. --- Another infrastructure problem. When will we truly become independent? --- Two major platforms crashing at the same time, that must have scared a lot of people. --- Too much reliance, that's the risk. --- Cloudflare is causing trouble again. Really need to find an alternative solution.

Cloudflare goes down and everything crashes, that's the price of centralization. Both the NFT marketplace and the exchange went down at the same time, that's unbelievable. By the way, how come this guy still doesn't have a backup plan? Another reminder not to put all our eggs in one basket. The nightmare of 500 errors—when will it ever end? Looks like we need to diversify risk, relying on just one CDN is too dangerous. Great, now this gives more ammunition to those criticizing Web3.
