#数字货币市场洞察 here’s something painful to admit: have you ever done this too?

$BTC keeps going up for several days, everyone in the group is calling out signals, and you finally can’t resist—you go all in. And then? The very next day, it starts to pull back, trapping you right at the top.

Or the opposite: on the day it crashes 30%, you panic, your hands shaking as you hit the sell button—only for the market to bounce back the next day as if nothing happened. It’s not that you can’t read candlesticks or haven’t done your homework—it’s just in that instant, you couldn’t control your hands.

There’s actually a professional term for this in crypto: chasing gains and panic selling. Sounds sophisticated, but really, it’s just your emotions making the decisions for you.

It’s simple when you break it down. Chasing gains means the price has already skyrocketed, and you’re afraid of missing out (FOMO), so you buy in late. Panic selling means when the price crashes, fear takes over your brain and you cut your losses without thinking.

On the surface, you think you’re “riding the trend,” but in reality? Every decision you make is half a step too late. In crypto, a 20% gain in one day is normal, and a 30% drop isn’t rare either. You buy at the top out of FOMO and sell at the bottom out of panic—in this cycle of buying high and selling low, your account balance only gets thinner over time.

Whether it’s $ETH or any other altcoin, the pattern is the same. The problem isn’t the market; it’s whether you’re trading with your brain or your emotions.

Next, let’s talk about how these habits destroy your principal, and what you can do to break out of this vicious cycle.
