Fusaka upgrade just flipped the script for Layer 2s. Blob fees skyrocketed 1500x overnight—literally from 1 wei straight to 1500 wei. We haven't seen L2 networks actually bleeding money for data posts since March, and now the pain is real.
Here's the thing: giants like Arbitrum and Optimism? They've got the muscle. Built-out infrastructure means they can pivot and optimize without breaking a sweat. But smaller L2 projects? They're hemorrhaging funds on every single blob submission right now. Not exactly a sustainable burn rate.
There's a light at the end though. Pectra drops December 9th, bringing 67% additional capacity to the table. That should ease the pressure—assuming these smaller players can survive till then.

NGL, this upgrade is pretty intense. Small L2s really can't handle a 1500x increase in fees... The whales must be grinning.

1500 times? This is the real "death by a thousand cuts." Small projects really can't afford to play now.

This wave directly crushed the small L2s. Arb and Op aren't worried at all, but what about us small projects? Every time we send a blob, we're bleeding.

Nah, now the small projects really can't hold on anymore. It's back to the situation where the big players eat meat and the small ones get the scraps.

The small L2s are really going to have a hard time this time— a 1500x fee increase has left everyone completely stunned.

At 2 a.m., another batch of small L2s got rekt. 1500x blob fees—this isn’t an upgrade, it’s a slaughterhouse.
Big players can survive, but small projects are doomed—classic case of the strong devouring the weak. December 9 is still far away, and those who won’t make it are already liquidating.

NGL, this spike in blob fees is really a nightmare for small projects... Guess we'll just have to wait for Pectra, there's nothing we can do.
