Gold die-hard Peter Schiff promotes on-chain gold platform, praises blockchain while criticizing Bitcoin

He admitted that blockchain does make gold “easier to hold, simpler to divide, and more convenient to exchange,” all without compromising gold’s value-preserving function. Hearing this from him was somewhat unexpected.

However, Schiff quickly switched gears and didn’t miss the chance to take a jab at Bitcoin. Pointing to the data, he noted that since 2021, Bitcoin’s price relative to gold has dropped by 40%. In his eyes, Bitcoin is just air with no intrinsic value.

CZ, on the other hand, remained calm and countered by highlighting real-world payment scenarios, using practical examples to prove Bitcoin’s utility. The two went back and forth, each standing by their own views.

The funniest part was at the end—Schiff turned around and asked a leading exchange whether they could list his gold token. Whether you call it pragmatism or self-contradiction, it’s clear that the line between traditional finance and the crypto world is getting blurrier.
