EigenCloud and LayerZero Launch EigenZero with $5M in Economic Security ⛓️
EigenCloud has partnered with cross-chain interoperability protocol LayerZero ($ZRO) to launch EigenZero, the first implementation of their CryptoEconomic DVN Framework. The new decentralized verifier network is backed by $5 million in slashable $ZRO tokens.
This integration introduces a cryptoeconomic security layer to cross-chain messaging, where verifiers can now be economically penalized for malicious behavior or failures via EigenCloud's slashing infrastructure. The framework allows dApps to select verifiers based on quantifiable, stake-backed security guarantees rather than technical reputation alone.
EigenZero represents a significant evolution in cross-chain security, enabling applications to configure verification with economic deterrence alongside technical proofs.
