According to The Washington Post, President-elect Donald Trump is expected to sign a series of executive orders that will significantly reshape the regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States.
First Day Expected Significant Steps
Presidential Crypto Council: According to information reflected in the media, one of the first decrees envisages the establishment of a 'Presidential Crypto Council' consisting of about 20 cryptocurrency experts.
Abolition of SAB 121: The repeal of the regulation called "SAB 121" issued by the SEC (US Securities and Exchange Commission), which prevents US banks from holding cryptocurrencies, is also on the table. This regulation has been a major obstacle, especially for crypto companies looking to integrate with traditional financial systems.
Facilitating Banking Access: The Trump administration is also expected to issue additional executive orders to facilitate crypto companies' collaboration with banks. This step may alleviate the 'unbanking' issue faced by crypto companies struggling to collaborate with banks due to regulatory uncertainty.
Comprehensive Crypto Presidential Decrees
SEC and CFTC Collaboration: It is reported that after the inauguration ceremony, Trump will address broader regulatory issues in the following weeks, and one of them is the establishment of a crypto-focused working group between the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Removal of DeFi-Focused Regulation: Another decree aims to repeal the stock exchange rule of the SEC, which has faced backlash from the crypto community for targeting decentralized finance (DeFi) projects.
International Cooperation: In addition, with another decree prepared by the Trump team, it is planned to develop international cooperation to promote global crypto innovation by the US Secretary of State.
"Crypto Ball" and Sectoral Interaction
On January 17th, the "Crypto Ball" Event: In addition to policy reforms, a high-level event called the "Crypto Ball" will be held on January 17th as part of the celebrations for Trump's inauguration.
VIP Reception and David Sacks: This event will be organized by Trump's super PAC (MAGA Inc.) and will feature a special VIP reception with the participation of David Sacks, whom Trump has appointed as the "czar" responsible for artificial intelligence and crypto matters.
VIP Tickets and Private Dinner: While the VIP tickets for the event are priced at $100,000, the $1 million exclusive package also offers the right to attend a private dinner with Trump at a later date, in addition to four tickets.
