I have recently been studying Bybit's new features, and I feel that they have significantly improved my trading habits, especially the updates on TWAP orders and Margin calculations, which indeed make trading more worry-free. Here are some of my experiences to share with everyone.
TWAP Order: The "Invisible Shield" for Large Transactions
In the past, when making large trades, slippage always gave me a headache. Once an order was placed, the price would either be pushed higher or driven lower, and it was simply a luxury to expect to build a position steadily. Now, using Bybit's TWAP (Time Weighted Average Price) orders, the experience is completely different. TWAP breaks large orders into smaller portions and executes them evenly over a specified time period, resulting in a transaction price that is closer to the market average price, reducing the impact of price volatility.
Even better, TWAP orders can be hidden in the market depth, making it difficult for other traders to "sniper" them. For traders like me who prefer a low profile and want to avoid market attention, TWAP is like an invisible shield, allowing for more composed position building and closing. Whether trading spot or contracts, TWAP makes trading smoother, especially suitable for large transactions that require batch operations.
Margin Calculation Update: Volatility Resistance Tool
In contract trading, the most feared situation is the "spike" market, where a sudden extreme price fluctuation can directly trigger forced liquidation, resulting in total loss. Bybit's newly updated margin calculation algorithm now uses the Mark Price as the basis, instead of the instantaneous market price. This adjustment makes the margin requirement for positions more aligned with the real market trend, reducing the risk of being swept by short-term false breakouts.
In practice, I found that the liquidation line has been pulled further away, making positions more stable during market fluctuations. For example, when faced with a sudden sell-off, where I might have been liquidated directly before, I can now withstand it for a while longer, giving me more time to adjust my strategy. This has significantly reduced my psychological burden, enhancing my trading experience, especially as someone who prefers to hold positions for a period of time.
If you also want to build positions more smoothly, reduce slippage, or lower the risk of contract liquidation, it is strongly recommended to try TWAP and the new Margin mechanism.
