America's dependence on Persian Gulf oil has never been lower:

U.S. crude oil imports from the Persian Gulf have fallen to about 500,000 barrels per day, nearing historic lows.
Imports from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, and Qatar have decreased by 2.5 million barrels per day since the 2003 peak.
Just nine years ago, the U.S. received about 2 million barrels per day from this region.
Current import levels are only slightly higher than the COVID-19 pandemic shock in 2020 and the lowest levels of the 1980s.
Meanwhile, U.S. crude oil production has reached approximately 13.7 million barrels per day, close to all-time highs, soaring +145% since 2003.
The U.S. is more energy independent than ever.
