Abstract generation in progress

BP is demanding at least $3.7 billion in damages, and potentially over $6.0 billion, plus interest and legal fees, from its arbitration victory against Venture Global concerning liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes. This claim stems from Venture Global’s failure to deliver LNG under a long-term contract that was supposed to begin in late 2022. Venture Global, however, has stated that BP’s requested damages are “unserious and not supported by evidence or controlling law.”
