Minister of Finance Lan Fuan stated at the press conference on the economic theme of the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress on March 6 that we will fully implement the requirements for government agencies to tighten their belts, using austerity measures in government agencies to improve people’s lives. This year, the central government’s “three public” expenses are reduced by more than 7%, and expenses for meetings, training, and other activities are cut by 10%. Local governments are also strictly controlling their budgets, with 20 provinces saving over 12 billion yuan, reallocating funds to ensure key areas and critical links.
