Over 350 Chinese companies showcase at MWC, competing for AI and 6G industry opportunities
From March 2 to 5, the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2026, hereafter referred to as “Barcelona Expo”) will be held in Barcelona, Spain. This year’s event focuses on key topics such as the deep integration of AI and the communications industry, and is expected to attract over 2,900 exhibitors and more than 100,000 visitors worldwide.
Among them, more than 350 Chinese companies are participating, a significant increase from last year, covering the entire industry chain including telecom operators, equipment suppliers, terminal manufacturers, and core components. Leading companies such as China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, Huawei, ZTE, and Honor will showcase major products and solutions, demonstrating China’s technological strength in mobile communications and competing for new opportunities in AI and 6G industry development.
Chinese Companies to Showcase Full-Stack AI Innovation Products
AI is rapidly becoming the core engine of the intelligent world. IDC reports that over the past year, AI applications and devices have experienced explosive growth: global monthly active users surpassed 1 billion, AI smartphones account for over half of new shipments, and new terminals like AI glasses are growing at over 50% annually, with token consumption skyrocketing hundreds of times in a year. This presents huge opportunities for the mobile industry.
From network infrastructure and terminal products to core components, Chinese companies are driving AI technology from concept to large-scale commercial deployment. At this Barcelona Expo, Huawei, ZTE, and other Chinese companies will showcase full-stack AI innovation products.
Huawei will release the AgenticCore solution, which leverages three engines—network element intelligence, network intelligence, and business intelligence—to address key challenges such as traffic surges in the AI era, differentiated network demands, and new business monetization for operators, promoting large-scale commercial use of intelligent network systems.
Currently, the U6GHz band, with its large bandwidth and excellent coverage, is becoming a key frequency for the evolution and commercialization of 5G-A. Huawei will also introduce a full-scenario U6GHz product series, covering macro stations, small stations, and microwave systems, precisely matching AI applications’ core needs for high capacity, low latency, and high experience, providing systematic solutions for the performance leap of 5G-A networks and smooth evolution toward 6G.
ZTE will showcase its globally pioneering 2048-antenna array prototype for the U6GHz band, which, driven by AI algorithms, can increase capacity by ten times compared to 5G-A. Under the theme “Intelligent Future,” ZTE has created four core display areas: AI-enabled networks, AI computing power, AI home, and personal intelligent terminals. In addition to the 6G prototype, ZTE will also display Nubia phones integrated with the Doubao AI assistant.
Honor will focus on innovation in AI terminal forms, unveiling the world’s first mass-producible robot phone, ROBOT PHONE, in Barcelona on the evening of March 1. This device features the industry’s smallest and lightest micro-motor and the smallest “four degrees of freedom” gimbal system, capable of turning, twisting, and moving like a human neck, perceiving the surrounding world in all directions. Also debuting at this year’s Barcelona Expo is Honor’s first embodied intelligent humanoid robot, marking Honor as the world’s first smartphone company to enter the consumer humanoid robot market.
In addition to Honor, domestic brands like Zhiyuan will also showcase robots at the expo, and Alibaba’s Qianwen will launch AI glasses at the event.
Providing New Computing Power Options for the World
As AI technology continues to evolve, large models with parameters reaching trillions are now entering the era of trillion-scale, deeply integrating intelligent agents into core production processes across various industries, which demands higher computing power and lower latency. At this Barcelona Expo, Chinese companies like Huawei and ZTE will also present their computing power solutions, offering more diverse options for the world.
Huawei will debut its latest super-node products and solutions, including the Atlas 950 SuperPoD and TaiShan 950 SuperPoD, overseas for the first time. The Atlas 950 SuperPoD supports up to 8,192 cards connected via Lingqu Interconnection, enabling it to learn, think, and work like a computer, meeting the growing demand for computing power and promoting AI development.
AI computing power is also a key focus for ZTE. ZTE will showcase eight core technological innovations, including super-nodes, as well as flexible intelligent computing data center solutions and enterprise AI intelligent agents like Co-Claw. The flexible data center solution, with its highly modular design, reduces construction time by 40%, while liquid cooling technologies such as cold plate and immersion cooling, along with 800V high-voltage DC solutions, improve energy efficiency by 25%.
