Vitalik is starting to be pessimistic again, but on the other hand... the dependence on the US dollar is indeed an unavoidable hurdle.

Vitalik is starting to talk down again, but the truth is that stablecoins are inherently a paradox... Want decentralization but also stability, how is that possible?

Is Vitalik again criticizing stablecoins? It's a common topic... but he does have a point; the USD peg is indeed a vulnerability.
