Consensys founder Joe Lubin recently shared an quite imaginative perspective on a podcast: instead of passively accepting AI to consume data, it's better to actively regain control of the narrative.

His vision is quite cyberpunk—the future where humans will deeply integrate with machine intelligence, becoming some kind of "hybrid organism." But the key point is that this integration should not be built on the monopoly of tech giants. Lubin believes users must have sovereignty over their own data, rather than allowing large tech companies to monopolize all interfaces.

He further envisions that in the future, people might interact with AI through smart glasses, drones, or other devices, but these interactions should be user-controlled and verifiable. This approach is, to some extent, exactly the core issue Web3 aims to solve—allowing individuals to regain ownership and control of the digital world. In other words, the data value in the AI era should not be exploited for free, but should become assets truly owned by users.

Sounds good, but will big tech companies give up data control? Dream on.

It's the same old data sovereignty thing... sounds great, but how many can truly have control?

Joe Lubin is back to making promises... hybrid organisms, data sovereignty, user control—sounds very Web3, but the question is, who will ensure that this system won't be taken over by another group of tech giants?

Sounds pretty ideal, but can it really be achieved? The big companies have their tentacles too deep...

Sounds good, but will the big tech companies give way? Haha, still have to rely on blockchain to fight back.
