Amazon started a small-scale R&D test of a grayscale feature called "Buy for me" in April last year, which has caused significant controversy on Instagram and Reddit communities this week.

In the past, Amazon required sellers to actively join before opening their stores, but many independent brands refused to join Amazon to protect their profits and prevent imitation.

However, Amazon now has launched an Agentic Shopping AI feature that can directly display products from stores and brands that users want to buy but haven't registered on Amazon. After placing an order, AI is used to purchase, forcing transaction data, funds flow, and user purchasing behavior to stay on Amazon.
